Collection includes a handwritten document headed, "Whitin Model F Feed at Jas. Irving & Son," ca. 1932; a typescript (carbon) headed, "New mixing picker," a machine developed by Davis & Furber; and correspondence dated 1924 from Reginald Bentley, Dalton, Huddersfield, England, offering his services as technical designer of opening and carding machines for woolen and worsted industries, with a reply from Davis & Furber declining to hire him. Bentley's letter indicates that he was head draftsman at John Haigh & Sons, Huddersfield, and includes a list of machines he was prepared to make. Collection also includes a page from "American Wool and Cotton Reporter," June 26, 1941, concerning an improved Cavedon equalizer for wool carding from Davis & Furber; correspondence from Sydney Harwood to Bartlett Harwood, Jr., 1967, outlining steps in liquidating the company and including advertisements for the company; information from Hudson, Lyles & Co., Batley, England concerning a duplex oiling machine, 1927; a license to do business, Sept. 1, 1862, issued to Geo. S. Harwood and G.H. Quincy; and a certificate of charter membership in the National Association of Wool Manufacturers, 1945.
